S2.E5 | Thanksgiving Shenanigans

Wednesday Nov 15, 2023

Wednesday Nov 15, 2023

Happy Wednesday and (almost) Thanksgiving! The worst time of the year for turkeys. The Liturgical Shenantanigizers discuss their holiday traditions and why they are or are not meaningful. Why gather? Why not gather? Who are we gathering with? And (most importantly) why would anyone ever eat cranberry sauce that did not come from an Ocean Spray can (not sponsored)?
Speaking of our Instagram: did you know that you can communicate with us via any of our socials (listed below) or by joining our discord channel: Wayfolk Arts Discord Family??? Here you will find various pathways to discuss different liturgical topics or to just say hello. Hope to see you there!

It's Liturgical Shenanigan Wednesday! Whew. We made it. This week your favorite trio (second only to the Trinity perhaps) engage a ritual shenanigan written by Hannah- a ritual for the high holy day of apple picking. You can read this first draft of Hannah's ritual here: Apple Ritual
Does your family and or friend group have rituals around apple picking? Corn? Blueberries? Could you see yourself or your community engaging this ritual? We want to know! S2.E2 | Artist-Theologian?

Wednesday Sep 27, 2023

Wednesday Sep 27, 2023

Happy liturgical Wednesday! This week your favorite shenantanigizers talk about what it means to be exploring the dual vocation of "artist-theologian."
We wonder: what is your familiarity with the terms artist and theologian? Do YOU think they compliment each other? Are you comfortable leaning into either or both labels? Does one need to earn the right to declare themselves an artist or a theologian? You can communicate with us via any of our socials (listed below) or by joining our discord channel: Wayfolk Arts Discord Family. S2.E1 | Wayfolk Manifesto

Wednesday Sep 13, 2023

Wednesday Sep 13, 2023

ANNNNNNDDD we're back! In this episode your favorite shenantanigizers return and discuss what exactly they believe and long for Wayfolk Arts to do via a manifesto. You can read the draft of the manifesto they engage here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zcu8fRf1Snx6VrIr-xerjzEhrNsNX2jgcd5bhUzMUk0/edit?usp=sharing
Correction corner- Hannah defends her choice of the word manifesto by claiming a love for a Wendell Berry poem she titles "The Mad Farmer Manifesto" when it is in fact titled "Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front." Her error is valid but an error none-the-less.
We want to know your personal manifestos! You can communicate with us via any of our socials (listed below) or by joining our discord channel: Wayfolk Arts Discord Family. Here you will find various pathways to discuss different liturgical topics or to just send us a hey. Hope to see you there!

Wednesday May 17, 2023

Happy Shenanigans Wednesday! We are deep in graduation season. For this week's episode we talk about rituals generally engaged during graduation. Many graduation rituals in religious communities involve some form of blessing service. Hannah brings for us a Liturgical Catechesis she wrote on "blessing" for our local seminary's graduation blessing service. If you would like to read along you can access it at this link: https://wayfolkarts.com/blog/for-a-threshold
Happy graduation to our listeners. Whether you are a graduate, a teacher/professor, or a graduate's loved one we are with you as your cross this threshold.
