This podcast features Maddie Lambert, Hannah Barker Nickolay, Jackson Nickolay, and Phil Quinn. They are liturgical artists, writers, preachers, theatre artists, musicians, poets, and dreamers seeking to foster a community of faithful wanderers and explore the intersection of the vocation of the artist and the minister.

We're back! Season 3 is kicking off a little different. We're spending this whole year dwelling in the Psalms of Ascent. We'll be translating them, writing about them, discussing them, and gathering them together to see where they take us.
This first episode is a new format for us. It is a short form piece with just Jackson, talking about the process of translating Psalm 120. Don't worry you'll be getting the full Liturgical Shenanigans experience in a few days. This one though is just about the translation process and how it went for Jackson.

Hannah, Jackson, Phil and Maddie have been hard at work translating for *drum roll* a live scripture enactment! This week on the podcast the crew talks about what the process has been like so far. Specifically the weirdness that is the Hebrew language and the many different stories that could be being told in 1 Kings 16 and 17 including its echos of Merlin stories. We hope you are as excited as we are about this upcoming project.
A fun question for this week: how many times did you hear Jackson say the word "chunk" and was it enough?
While we work to prepare enactments for a live show (or a few), we will be sharing more content on our socials (posted below). To create space for this, episodes are going to temporarily switch to a once a month posting schedule. We hope you will follow along with us as we engage scripture in this special way.

"Deconstruction" has been a buzz word in faith circles for some time now. But, what does this word mean and what does the process actually look like? The Wayfolk Arts crew discusses their own experience with deconstruction and provides encouragement for folks on their own path.
This summer, the Wayfolk Arts crew will be spending this season engaging in the practice and inviting community members to join them! In doing so, we will be sharing more content on our socials (posted below). To create space for this, episodes are going to temporarily switch to a once a month posting schedule. We hope you will follow along with us as we engage scripture in this special way.

Happy Shenanigan day!! This week your hosts discuss scripture enactment: what it is, why it is sometimes controversial, and an example of why engaging scripture this way matters for all of us. What's your experience (or inexperience) with scripture enactment?

It is Holy Week for those of us who observe Lent and this week for Shenanigan Day the Liturgical Shenantanigizers discuss an integral part of the Easter story: The Passover. Together, your hosts wonder at its meaning in the story of Easter as well as ponder how one might properly engage it as an oppressive or an oppressed people.
You can read the original passover story in Exodus 12. Warning: this text does involve the death of children.
