Liturgical Shenanigans: The Podcast

A podcast which seeks to find the liturgical in everyday moments and the sacramental in what is often thought of as mundane. This podcast features Maddie Lambert, Hannah Barker Nickolay, Jackson Nickolay, and Phil Quinn. They are liturgical artists, writers, preachers, theatre artists, musicians, poets, and dreamers seeking to foster a community of faithful wanderers and explore the intersection of the vocation of the artist and the minister.

It's the third episode of Liturgical Shenanigans! We (your hosts) have been taking turns sharing liturgies that are of particular meaning to us as a way to introduce ourselves to you. We hope that this is a helpful way to get to know each of us and the way we approach liturgy, theology, and all of life. It is our longing to be building as a podcast and as Wayfolk Arts an accepting community of faithful artists and sojourners providing a harbor of rest, recovery, and re-centering along life’s many paths and journeys. So, welcome. We are so glad you are joining us on this journey.
This week, Jackson Nickolay shares a liturgical shenanigan he wrote titled: “For the Darkening of Days.” If you would like to read along with us you can access the full liturgy here: https://wayfolkarts.com/blog/liturgy-of-the-month-a-liturgy-for-the-darkening-of-days
Please feel free to use this liturgy to ritualize the darkening of days in your own contexts. And let us know if you do! How did it go? What did you love? What did you change? We'd love to see pictures.
